Welcome to
Church of the Good Shepherd

Church of the Good Shepherd serves as a magnet in the northeastern part of Colorado Springs, drawing people who seek a living relationship with a loving Creator God. As a young church—seven years old—we appeal to people attracted to a freshness in the Spirit and an eagerness to build a church that is distinctive and relevant to the needs of today.

To serve you on your spiritual journey, we offer the following:

More Than a Match logo

Our church is joining forces with the Colorado Episcopal Foundation and many other churches in our Diocese to raise funds through More-than-a-Match! The Foundation, as many Episcopal organizations, has allotted .7% of their annual budget towards the support of the Millennium Development Goals. In order to maximize the funds, they’ve launched a match campaign. They will match donations from throughout the Diocese, up to $12,000.

The funds will go to the Colorado Haiti Project’s Three Bishops Fund’s Water Project (providing potable and irrigation water in Petit Trou de Nippes in Haiti) and the re-construction of a burned down primary school in war-torn Abyei, Sudan (area supported by the Sudanese Community Church, a special congregation within our Diocese). The goal is easy to accomplish. If 60 churches decide to raise $200 (or more), that means $24,000 total will be distributed among these organizations. Church of the Good Shepherd has decided to raise $200.00. We will do so through a “Loose Change Offering” each Sunday. If you would like more information about this campaign, you can contact Linda Council, councilcolinda@comcast.net . All the participating churches will be recognized during the Diocesan Convention in October, giving us a chance to let the rest of the Diocese know what we are doing.

Join us as we help fulfill the Millennium Development Goals right here from our church.

Earthday!

Church of the Good Shepherd participated in the Earthday Celebration at Palmer High School on Saturday 26 April 2008. We sold environmentally-friendly light bulbs and shopping bags, and enjoyed the many other booths provided by other participants.

Music

Music and choirOur worship music is accompanied by one or two keyboards. We also have Charlie, our music director, on the guitar and Marianne on violin. Luis has joined as a bass cellist, and Bonnie is providing strong, lovely vocals. Sometimes Charlie has guest musicians supplement with viola, or trumpet.

Fellowship

Enjoying fellowship at Father Ray's Departure Service

Following worship, we meet for fellowship and refreshments in the cafeteria at 10:45. We take turns volunteering refreshments, so you never know what you might get! Regardless, the kids usually find tidbits to their satisfaction.

Worship

We meet at Explorer Elementary School on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Regular worship includes Holy Communion, with Sunday School and childcare. Click for a map..
